North West region of Croatia is signified by the simplicity of food and beverages there. Yet despite all the simplicities there are many delicate and delicious dishes that come up from the kitchens of the North West Croatian ranges.  

Their main food is bread that is either made from maize or barley or a combination of both, dairy products dominated by cow milk and vegetables. Not that they do not prefer meat, eggs and fish for preparing their cuisines. 

Food practices in these areas vary with the season. Therefore in the hotels you will find different types of dishes with change of the season. In Zagorie you find pumpkin cakes and garlic sausages in Banovina.  However, the common favorite of all places are the potatoes or bean salad with onion, along with pickled cabbage and boiled or smoked pork legs found in most hotels in Croatia.
