Urdu is an Indo-Aryan language of the Indo-Iranian branch; it belongs to the Indo-European family of languages. It is Pakistan’s first language. It’s widely written and spoken in South Asian sub continent.

Along with Hindi, Urdu has 5th largest population of native speakers, among all languages. It is the national language of Pakistan and one of the official languages of India.

Urdu is often mixed with Hindi, another standardized form of Hindustani language. The main difference between these two languages is their alphabetical constructions. Some scholars nonetheless consider Urdu and Hindi as two standardized forms of the same language. However, others classify them separately.
